Hey guys! My name is Pegah Movahed, the owner and founder of L&J. I started jewelry making as a hobby when the world shut down with Covid-19 back in March 2020. It quickly became a business after several friends asked purchase some of my pieces and so now...I'm officially a business owner! I'm so excited to be able to use my creativity and love of jewelry to supplement my income- and I hope my story inspires others to do the same.
So why the name L&J? Well..I have a beautiful daughter named Layla with an incredible story. She has a rather large arteriovenous malformation (AVM) in her brain, causing four brain hemorrhages, and doctors suspect that its from a disorder called cerebral proliferative angiopathy. The "L" in L&J stands for Layla. And what's the "J" you ask? Well I've recently acquired a beautiful step-daughter by the name of Jasmine who has become an amazing big sister to Layla. Both of these little ladies are my entire world, so what better way to honor them by making it the name of my company
There is nothing more devastating than being told your child has hours to live--- maybe days if I was lucky. 11 years and a multitude of medical obstacles later, my precious Layla can walk and talk and is one of the sassiest girls I've ever encountered. The Dallas Children's Hospital has literally saved my daughter's life which is why 10% of any profits will go directly to them. If you'd rather just donate directly, I will post a link to their site. Thank you all for reading! Please take care of yourself, take care of others, and remember to always be grateful for the little things in life.
